Biography and creative way

Maryna Melnyk is a Ukrainian artist.

Born in 1982 in the city of Kyiv.

Marina's first teacher was her father, who had an art education and worked as a clothing designer and tailor all his life.

Marina began her career as a make-up artist on television in Kyiv, where she worked for 15 years.

Painting was for a long time only a favorite hobby, because choosing the path of an artist was always "not the right time". Marina was left without a father in her teens and aspired to financial independence to help her mother. But even in choosing a profession that was not quite her dream, Marina got as close as possible to the world of art, where her creative potential always found an outlet in other types of activity.

The pandemic period and the forced break from work became a period of "silence" for her, during which enlightenment and a gradual realization of one's destiny and the life path one aspires to follow come.

  It was in these post-pandemic years that Marina began her conscious journey as an artist.

Due to the Russian-initiated war in Ukraine, Marina was forced to move with her daughter and mother to the UK, where she continues to create and teach art. Her workshops cover a variety of techniques, including painting, clay modeling, and traditional Ukrainian folk art, including Petrykivka painting. These classes not only teach technical skills and art history, but also create a therapeutic space for creativity and connection.
